INTERNATIONAL ERASMUS GAMES
"The International Erasmus Games (IEG) are a pan European health and well-being initiative of ESN. We unite exchange students from all over Europe in an effort to promote sports as a universal language which is understood by everyone. Our efforts break all the barriers which separate the local and international communities of Europe and bring together people from all backgrounds, nationalities and age groups under the motto of healthy competition."
I had the opportunity to attend IEG in Coimbra, Portugal, the edition of 2022 as a member of the communication and media team.
This meant that I was (one of) the official photographer for the games!
Being part of the communication team for ESN events, as an intern for the organisation in Brussels for half a year also meant that, besides giving me the opportunity to travel, I also had the opportunity to improve my know-how, my skills, have fun and connect with amazing people.
"Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest student associations in Europe.
We are present in more than 1000 Higher Education Institutions from over 40 countries.
The network is constantly developing and expanding. We have around 15,000 active members that are in many sections supported by so called buddies mainly taking care of international students. Thus, ESN involves around 40,000 young people offering its services to around 350,000 international students every year."
We like to say that ESN is more than an organisation - it's a huge, ever expanding, family!
